Buddha Purnima
Buddha Purnima, which is also known as Buddha Jayanti, is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the lord Buddha. It is a widely celebrated occasion where people till date remember and try to incorporate the teachings of Buddha for healthy and peaceful living. Buddha was born on a full moon night in month of April. According to Hindu calendar Buddha was born on a Full Moon day of Vaisakh month in 563 BC. He was born as a prince in a king’s home at Kapilvastu. He was provided with all sorts of comforts and luxuries that one can imagine. He was always kept away from any sights that could cause him discomfort. Whenever Buddha had to move out of his palace, provisions were made to keep all misery out of his sight.
